SCRIPTURE:“We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.” (A of F 1:1)
OBJECTIVE: To learn about Jesus Christ and His life through the scriptures.
NOTE: The purpose of this lesson is to cover the life stories of the Savior. This lesson will not cover the death and the atonement of Christ. This subject will be covered in depth in a future lesson.
LESSON:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer. Jesus came to earth and is our perfect example. We can learn about Him and how to follow Him in the scriptures.
What are some of your favorite stories in the scriptures about Jesus?
Allow family members to respond.
Bear testimony that we can learn all about the Savior and how to be like Him through the scriptures.
ACTIVITY:
For this activity, you and your family will be matching pictures from the life of Jesus that are included in the Gospel Art Kit, with the scriptures that tell that story from Christ’s life. This is a great way to practice finding scriptures and bringing them to life through the pictures from the Gospel Art Kit that represent these scripture stories.
If you have very young children, you can modify this activity by just showing the pictures and seeing how many of the stories they know. Briefly tell each scripture story or have a family member tell it to the best of their ability.
