Struggles–#write31days

struggles

First let me say that I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is the actual and proper name for our church.  Our church is often referred to as the LDS Church, or the Mormon Church.  This series of posts was at the request of some of my friends on Facebook.  You can read more about that here–on my Landing Page or introduction for the Write 31 Days Challenge.

Missions are hard.  For many missionaries, this is the first time they have been away from home.  Missionaries deal with anxiety, stress, strange lands, strange food, a new and difficult schedule and the list goes on and on.  They tract and have doors slammed in their faces. They walk or bike for miles and miles.  They get chased by dogs.  They serve rain, snow, and shine.  It gets freezing cold.  It gets unbearably hot.  Many have to learn to understand and speak a new language.  The list goes on and on.  But most will tell you after all of the struggles they may go through, that it is worth it.

I found this video that will help you get just a glimpse of what a mission is like.  The words are excellent.
