Living With A Companion–#write31days

First let me say that I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is the actual and proper name for our church.  Our church is often referred to as the LDS Church, or the Mormon Church.  This series of posts was at the request of some of my friends on Facebook.  You can read more about that here–on my Landing Page or introduction for the Write 31 Days Challenge.

Another of the big challenges on a mission is learning to live with and to love and serve your missionary companion.  You don’t get to choose your companion as they are assigned by the mission president.  You quickly have to overcome the challenges of different cultures, sometimes languages, and just all around quirks that you each have.  You have to learn to get along and work together.  You are with your assigned companion 24/7.  But even though it can be challenging at times, it can also be a lot of fun.  I loved getting to know all of my companions.  They all became dear friends.  In fact, my trainer and I became so close, that after out missions, she was my Maid of Honor at my wedding, and I was her Matron of Honor at her wedding a month or so later.

Here is an awesome video by a returned missionary talking about how to be a good companion.
