Going Stateside–#write31days

First let me say that I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is the actual and proper name for our church.  Our church is often referred to as the LDS Church, or the Mormon Church.  This series of posts was at the request of some of my friends on Facebook.  You can read more about that here–on my Landing Page or introduction for the Write 31 Days Challenge.

Serving stateside can be a blessing.  Usually stateside missionaries are only in the MTC for about 2 weeks. (Unless they are learning a foreign language, then it is longer.)  They don’t have to worry about getting visas and super long plane trips and then catching connecting flights in foreign cities in languages they don’t understand.  For those serving stateside and speaking English, they get to focus on studying the gospel more.  This is a huge and personal blessing.

Here is a short video by a young sister who shares her feelings about her call to a stateside mission.  She was initially disappointed, but soon learned there were lots of blessings to serving a mission stateside.
