First let me say that I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is the actual and proper name for our church. Our church is often referred to as the LDS Church, or the Mormon Church. This series of posts was at the request of some of my friends on Facebook. You can read more about that here–on my Landing Page or introduction for the Write 31 Days Challenge.
Serving an International or Foreign mission is exciting, but full of challenges. You have to learn a new language and a new culture. You don’t have your parents with you to help you adjust. There are new foods to become accustomed to, and safety issues. Some areas are downright dangerous. But even though it can be hard at times, it is still lots of fun. Each and every day brings a new experience as you learn how to communicate and love the people of the country in which you are serving.
I found this video by one of the first six LDS missionaries to Mongolia. I enjoyed the whole series, but this one I thought was pretty neat. I can’t imagine having your mission call changed in the MTC and then going with such a small group to open up a new country.
And if you really want to know more about his experience, I am including this next video as I thoroughly enjoyed it as well.
