I have decided to share a 72 day daily challenge with you each day until Easter, April 1st. We are doing this in our Relief Society, and I thought I would like to share it here as well. I shared a little about the challenge here.
Each day I will share the daily video here and then my personal thoughts about it after I have personally watched it. Today is Day 31.
Wherefore Didst Thou Doubt?
Jesus Christ walks on water, and bids Peter to come unto Him.
Matt 14:25-33
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
My Impressions:
My thoughts are the same as they always have been. Peter only began to sink and his faith wavered when he began to take his eyes off of the Savior. As long as he keep his eyes firmly centered on Christ, he was fine. And when he waver and began to sink, he called out to the Lord for help and Christ immediately saved him.
I want to keep my vision firmly centered on the Savior. And I know that whenever I begin to sink, I can ask for His help and He will save me.
