X is a difficult word to do in these alphabet challenges. I’m just saying. I briefly thought about using it for xylophone, because I remember when I was in beginner band, I didn’t think it was fair that the drummers got to play with xylophones. They looked pretty cool and I briefly considered changing my instrument so I could play too. But I decided not to go there.
When I think of the letter X, I have learned to think of Xeriscaping. Xeriscaping is something I learned about from my husband. Xeriscaping is landscaping and gardening that reduces or eliminates the need for supplemental water from irrigation. When you xeriscape, you use low water plants that do well in a semi-arid climate. So basically you make it look pretty without needing a lot of water. I know, you are now thinking a yard full of cactus. Nope. There are lots of plants you can use for this, though cactus can be used as well.
Here is a picture of just some of the plants you can use. This isn’t my house. It’s just a picture I managed to find.
Pretty neat, huh? Around here, X is for xeriscaping.
