Things went well over the weekend. I finished the book I was reading and am now working on plotting things out. I shared a bit with a close friend that I trust and she begged me to get them written so she could read them. She is the type to tell it like it is and she knows her stuff in this genre, so I did find that encouraging.
On Saturday, I spent the afternoon volunteering at the local movie theater. It is mostly run by volunteers. In exchange for helping and then cleaning up, you get a movie pass as a thank you. Gary and I both volunteered, and then that evening, we grabbed Chandler and another pass we had from an earlier volunteer time and we went and saw Mockingjay Part 1 for the second time. It was just as good as the first time. We enjoyed it immensely. And it was fun to get in to see it for basically free. We did splurge and get some snacks, so that cost us. But still cheap fun overall.
Sunday, I went to church and enjoyed it as usual. I taught my lesson in Sunday School, and then thoroughly enjoyed a lesson in Relief Society (women’s organization for those who don’t know what that is…), about prioritizing. It was a great reminder that I can’t do everything and that I shouldn’t expect myself to be able to do everything. We are all in different seasons in our lives and you are able to do things in certain seasons of your life that you just can’t in others. We women tend to think we can and have to do everything all at once and all the time. I was glad for the reminder.
I discussed some plotting ideas and future book plans with my hubby and it was great to use him as a sounding board. It helped to solidify the things I want to do and accomplish in my mind. He’s pretty great at that.
Overall, it was a great weekend, filled with fun and a little bit of work. I wouldn’t change much about it, so that’s a good thing, right?
