Today went pretty much as expected. I read Chapter 2 of Writing Thrillers, The Writer’s Guide to Crafting Tales of Suspense, by Michael Newton last night before I went to sleep. Well, most of it. It was a really long chapter, and I got sleepy. Tonight, I will read the rest of that chapter and then try to read all of Chapter 3 before I fall asleep. It might be a challenge. The book is really good, but when I read before sleeping, I get sleepy quickly. We’ll see what happens.
I spent 2 hours today getting Chandler’s schedule set for the rest of this school year. I had to do some planning and revise a couple of things from what I had originally planned. We found what I had done originally wasn’t working, so we did things differently. Chandler started to complain that it was hard to remember all of the changes. So I promised I would remedy the situation. Once I got everything fixed, I printed it and then bound it with my comb binding machine. He was very happy. It was 2 hours well spent.
I then spent 6 1/2 hours doing stuff for Home & School Mosaics. I set up some things for the year for all of the book club books that we are doing and then scheduled most of the rest of the posts for January. I need a revision on the very last one, or I would have just finished. So I guess I will revise that tomorrow, hopefully. I still have a lot to do for our writers and setting up some special things for them. It’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff that just takes a long time to do. I imagine if I put in about 8 more hours, I will be done until toward the end of the month when I will be prepping things for February.
Once I finished all of that and we ate dinner, I spent some time with the boys playing Wii Sports. We enjoy that and honestly, I really needed the chance to blow off some steam and move my muscles. It was fun to laugh and play with the boys.
I then spent a couple of hours working on my Sunday School lesson for Sunday. I teach the adult class, called Gospel Doctrine. We start the New Testament this Sunday. I am looking forward to learning and teaching about the life of Christ. It will be really special and I am fortunate that I get to do it. I love my church calling. I learn so much every week.
Now I am going to veg for a bit and watch some of our favorite Friday night TV shows. We like Undercover Boss, Hawaii Five-O and Blue Bloods. Once I’ve watched those, it will be time to go to bed. We might only watch one of the 3 since they are recorded. We can catch the other 2 later this weekend sometime.
Tomorrow I plan on spending some time plotting. So I will get going on my new Thriller series soon. I am excited to start. I’ll talk to you again on Monday, where I will report on things for the weekend. Have a great one! I sure plan to have a great weekend and also make some progress on my writing as well.
