Perhaps one of the most creative ways to help your child learn about a topic, is through a process called lapbooking. This process is both fun and interesting and there will not be any bored learners while making their creation. In fact, the only thing that will hamper your creativity is your own imagination or lack thereof. So what exactly is this thing called a lapbook and how do you go about making one?
A lapbook is most simply explained as a portfolio of your child’s school work that is presented in a creative and eye pleasing manner. It will contain several creations made of paper that describe and focus on whatever topic you are studying in your homeschool. Your child will make mini books and reports of the various things that they learn about that subject. These will include charts, illustrations, recipes, photos and whatever else you can think to place in it. These are then compiled into a special folder that you make and then display in a creative manner.
This week I will share several video clips that will help you to create lapbooks in your homeschool. Today we will begin with a short video that shows you how to make a basic lapbook.
