I had originally planned to do something new with my menu planning and have it start this month. But time has gotten away from me. So I will stick with this format for one more month, and launch my new format in August. I want it to be just what I envision, so this just seems like the best idea for now.
This past week we had my aunt and uncle visiting from North Carolina. Today, we have another uncle and aunt from Oregon visiting for overnight. I love it when we get to see family we haven’t seen for a long, long time. But it also means that we didn’t necessarily eat what I had planned last week. So I am using some of those plans this week.
This week we will also be celebrating Independence Day here in the USA. July 4th is one of my very favorite holidays. I like to watch the fireworks and have a day of picnics and family celebrations. We will be hosting fireworks at our house once again. That means we will be making homemade ice cream. That’s become one of our favorite traditions. I’m thinking we’ll make peach ice cream or maybe my very favorite strawberry peach. Of course, I could be overruled and we’ll make plain vanilla and have a lot of add ins for everyone to put into their own bowls. What are some of your favorite traditions on the 4th?
Here is what we are eating this week:
Cold Cereal, Milk
Chicken Burgers, Tater Tots
Sandwiches & Chips
Ribs, Baked Beans, Potatoes, Peaches
Ham & Potatoes Au gratin, Salad
Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Cupcakes, Icecream
Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Homemade French Fries
Bacon Cheeseburgers, Tater Tots
