Lots of canning to do this week. I am making pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce. Then I purchased a box of apples to make applesauce, apple butter and apple pie filling. I am also going to can some chard and start some sauerkraut. Oh, and if that isn’t enough to worry about, I have crab apples that are ready for me to make jelly out of them.
The most exciting thing was that my new dehydrator came today. I can’t wait to start using it to preserve good things this way as well. I plan on drying some apples for snacking. Also I want to dehydrate bananas, celery and make some fruit leather.
Here is what we are having for dinner this week:
Monday— Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup, French Bread, Chocolate Chip Cookies
Wednesday– Tortilla Pizzas (This was such a hit last week and Dad wasn’t here and wants to have it too.)
Thursday– Grilled Steak, Butternut Squash, Cucumber-Tomato Salad
Friday– Oven Baked Chicken, Baked Potatoes, Green Beans, Apple Pie
Sunday—Crockpot Lasagna, French Bread
