Valentine’s Day…what do you have planned for your sweetheart and family? I’ve been doing the 14 Days of Valentine’s for Gary this month. He has had a treat every day with a cheesy saying on a red paper heart all month. He will probably miss it once the 15th shows up. I told him that all of these paper hearts were his card this year. I’ll still have a little something extra for him on the actual night, but mostly this has been his valentine this year.
I picked up a card and our usual box of chocolates for Chandler. And I am taking some heart shaped sugar cookies over to my Dad and my sister this year. I’ll be making those cookies tomorrow.
Valentine’s dinner is always a little more special around here. Gary has been traveling all this week and will get home that evening, just in time for dinner. We have planned to have a Steak & Shrimp dinner in honor of the day. I am going to try a new recipe for dessert that looked good to all of us: Crescent Cheesecake Bars. Mmmm…
This Friday brings us the Chinese New Year, so we’ll be noshing on some sweet and sour chicken in honor of that day.
I changed our menu a little yesterday and instead of a beef roast and veggies as I had originally planned, I pulled a turkey breast from the freezer and made that instead. It was just perfect and hit the spot.
Here is what we are planning to eat this week…
My Weekly Menu Plan:
Tuesday: Fried Ham & Potatoes
Wednesday: Steak, Shrimp, Baked Potatoes, Asparagus, Crescent Cheesecake Bars
Thursday: Hamburger Soup, Rolls
Friday: Sweet & Sour Chicken, Rice, Eggrolls
Saturday: Scalloped Cheesy Ham & Potatoes
Sunday: Chicken Parmesan , French Bread, Green Beans
