About Boogie Board Sync 9.7…
Spiral notebooks and legal pads are history. Now you can digitally create page after page of notes and drawings without sacrificing the writing experience. The Boogie Board Sync 9.7 saves your images and wirelessly transfers to your phone, tablet or computer via Bluetooth. And that’s just the beginning.

First, just let me say that I absolutely love this little piece of technology. It seriously rocks my world, and I am going to tell you why.
I love that the Boogie Board Sync 9.7 is light and easy to handle. It feels like you have a notebook in your hand, only much thinner and much lighter. It also feels like you are writing on a notebook, but you don’t have to worry about wasting paper to doodle or jot down notes or ideas. You also don’t have to worry about accidentally smudging the ink or pencil when you write. I love that. It’s clean and user friendly.
I had my nephew, an artist, give it a whirl while he was visiting recently. He drew a lot of detailed pictures and he loved that he was able to just look at the surface of the boogie board while he drew instead of having to look onto the computer screen to see what he was drawing like you do with other graphic tablets. He also liked that he could just save the picture and sync it with his computer and then edit his picture if he desired with a photo editing program. The Boogie Board Sync 9.7 went on to his list of must have items for his art work.
I used the Boogie Board to do some outlining for one of my novels. Sometimes I prefer to write my outlines out by hand and this filled that need wonderfully. I was able to then save my outline, and sync it with my computer. Then I moved the files into my writing software program by cutting and pasting. It saved me a lot of time as I didn’t need to type up my notes. I plan on using my board for this purpose over and over again. It was truly wonderful and fantastic.
The Boogie Board Sync would be fantastic for kids. They want to send a picture to Grandma? Easy. Have them draw on the boogie board and then save it and sync it with your computer or phone. Then text or email the picture to Grandma and she can then decide if she wants to keep it that way or print it out for her fridge. Your child wants to color? Easy peasy. Have them draw their picture on the board, then sync it and print it out. Instant coloring page that they designed.
As a homeschooler, I plan to use this bit of techno awesomeness this next year. For some of our lessons, I will use the boogie board in a live whiteboard situation. I can write on the board and my son will be able to watch it on his computer in real time. This will be very handy and something we will enjoy using. If I had little ones, this would be a great way to practice learning letters or spelling as well.
There are just three things I thought could be improved with the Boogie Board Sync. The first one, I wasn’t really thrilled that there were not printed instructions in the package when I first opened it. I like to have at least a little something to guide me in the right direction from the beginning. Luckily, I found a user manual on the main website. I linked that for you so you can find it easily.
The second thing I thought could be improved is something they are working on for future models. I thought the contrast could be a bit more distinct and dark. With my eyes, I need all the help I can get. It isn’t that you CAN’T see the difference, it can just be sharper and better. I read on the site that they are considering working on a white background with black in the future instead of the grey on dark grey that it currently uses. That would be much better and I hope they do make that change.
The final thing that can be improved is that there isn’t a way to erase any mistakes. It’s an all or nothing deal. You can erase, but it wipes the entire board clean. I would like it if I could erase only the word or letter or extra line in my drawing. If they can nail that down, this thing would be just about perfect. Seriously.
Even with the cons of the board, I still love it. You will have to pry it away from my cold dead hands to get mine. It’s just that great. I haven’t let my husband touch it yet as I have no doubt he will want to commandeer it for his own. He can’t have it. It’s mine. He can get his own. Really. Or maybe I will be feeling generous this Christmas and a new one will find its way beneath our tree with his name on it. It could happen.
My friend Heidi, also got to review this awesome little piece of techno bliss. You can see what she had to say about the Boogie Board, over at Heidi’s Head
