When I was given the opportunity to review the The Schoolhouse Planner Monthly Module for November, I jumped right on it.I absolutely love these monthly modules and this month my reaction is no different. In fact, I would have to say that this is probably my favorite one so far and I never thought I would say anything like that about a Mathematics product. It is probably because I never learned that math could actually be fun.I have always thought it to be a necessary evil.
However, Amusing Mathematics has shown me that math can indeed be not only fun, but downright amusing. The great thing about these modules is that they are stand alone unit studies and they are not seasonal.I love that.I can focus on these on my own timeframe and of course the timeframe of my child. He actually likes math, so he was all over this module. He has had a great time with the tangrams, Sudoku, word search, jokes, world currencies, and even the copywork.Although he is older, he is a boy with typical male penmanship that can get messy, so we like to work on our penmanship often. (Or I should say that I like him to work on it often.Him, not so much.)I think he enjoyed the rhymes and that is why he didn’t give me the rolling of the eyes that I usually get when we do copywork.
There are several links in the e-book module that allow for more practice and enrichment. Oh, and don’t forget about the recipes that are included in each of the modules. Those are always nice! At a price of $7.95, I think this will be a module that you will find to be quite a bargain. Anything that can make math FUN, is a bargain in my book. Check it out, you won’t be sorry!
