Today I am thankful that my son has become very independent in his studies. I made him a planner this year with all of his assignments entered into his schedule for four days per week. It was a trial this year to see if we could condense all of his studies into four days instead of the five we have been doing in the past. He isn’t doing less work at all. He is just doing all of it in four days instead of five. It has been working very well. His school day is just a bit longer each day, but we are off on that fifth day when Gary is off work each week. We alternate with that day being Monday or Friday each week during this time of the year. So that means that some weekends are two days in length and the other is four days in length. We are pretty much loving it.
But Chandler is really using his planner that I made. All of my hard work has been worth it as he just does what he needs to each day and is turning in stellar work. I am here if he has a question, but honestly, he hasn’t had too many this year so far. As my ultimate goal for our homeschooling was for Chandler to learn how to learn, I am feeling pretty good that we are meeting that goal.
What are you thankful for today?
