Well, I am going to be super honest here and say that I woke up with a headache again yesterday and thought it was going to just be another icky Monday. I really wasn’t looking forward to my day. but it was brightened considerably when I found out that I had been nominated for three different categories in the Homeschool Blog Awards.
I had no idea anyone would even nominate me and I am truly touched. I’ve never been nominated for this before, and since it was such a surprise, it really made me smile. So thank you to whomever nominated my little blog. 🙂
Here are the categories I am nominated in:
Favorite Homeschool Mom Blog— Aww…how sweet. I am pretty sure my son didn’t nominate me for this though. He got busted for something recently. I’ll be sharing that story soon. (It involves composition and plagiarism.) But since he is perhaps feeling like I am a little tough on him in our homeschool, I would be the last person he would nominate in this category. I am probably not his favorite homeschool mom at the moment. 😉
Best Homemaking or Recipe Blog–This nomination truly cracks me up. I can only surmise that the reason I was nominated here was because of my Oatmeal Muffin recipe. It is seriously the only thing I can think of that would procure such a nomination. I do love to cook, and my mother assures me I do have some homemaking skills though. But I have to admit that when I was growing up, my cousin Susie and I would call each other up to save each other when we were feeling too domestic. We didn’t want to be homemakers. Phone calls usually consisted of one of us saying something like, “I feel like sewing something.” And the other one saying, “Quick! I’ll be right over so we can go to the mall. It will be ok.” So to be nominated in this category, is just proof you can’t outrun the homemaking title, no matter how hard you try. Some things just are…
Best Homeschool Variety Blog— Yes, this one definitely fits me. I am all about variety. I get bored easily, so variety is the only thing that keeps me somewhat sane. It is what makes me great at being an eclectic homeschooler. It is just a good thing it works for my son, or we would be in trouble during this homeschooling journey. I would be bored and sleeping my way through it.
So all of this to say, that I would love it if you felt led to vote for me. I really don’t expect to win. (In fact, I told my own mother and husband that they HAD to vote for me so I had at least 2 votes. HA!) Honestly, there is a ton of competition and some really awesome blogs in each category. But–to the person or persons (I have no clue who you are…) who actually nominated me, thank you. You really made me smile on a day that was otherwise destined to be icky. And for your kindness, I am grateful.
What are you thankful for today?
